Explore. Inform. Conquer. Featuring sporty style and a durable design, the Atomic Pathfinder is much more than a watch, it's an advanced tool for use in the great outdoors. This Amazon Exclusive is equipped with many high-tech sensors to help you observe nature and monitor its continuous changes.
Atomic Timekeeping for Superb Accuracy
The Pathfinder provides micro-second accuracy with multi-band atomic timekeeping that picks up a time calibration signal from anywhere in the world and updates the watch's settings automatically. The Pathfinder features five daily alarms, a countdown timer, and an hourly time signal. The world time function includes 29 time zones (30 cities), a city code display, and a daylight saving on/off function. The automatic calendar is pre-programmed to the year 2099.
Tough Solar Power Eliminates Need for a Battery
You'll never have to worry about changing the battery thanks to the Pathfinder's Tough Solar technology. The battery is automatically charged by light, both indoor and outdoor. The Pathfinder has a solar cell and a special rechargeable, secondary battery that is charged by the electrical power produced by the solar cell. The watch will perform for five months on a single full charge.
Automatic Electro-Luminescent Display for Easy Viewing
The watch's read-outs can be viewed in any light, thanks to the Pathfinder's automatic, EL (electro-luminescent), adjustable backlit digital display with afterglow. Two high-intensity LEDs make the face exceptionally bright, and an auto light means that when you tilt the Pathfinder toward your face, the LEDs automatically light up for nighttime viewing.
Barometer, Altimeter, and Thermometer Readings
With the Pathfinder's barometer, you can predict changing weather patterns as they occur around you. The barometer takes readings every two hours and stores them automatically, graphically displaying the barometric pressure from the past 26 hours. The display ranges from 260 to 1,100 hPa (7.65 to 32.45 inHg) with changeovers from hPa to inHg.
The watch's altimeter can help you gauge the time you'll need to reach the summit. The altimeter checks and displays the altitude every two minutes and stores readings with the temperature every 15 minutes. The graphing function positions you with respect to your target altitude, while an alarm alerts you as you approach your mark. You can record up to 40 sets of data with each record, displaying the month, date, and time. The altimeter's measuring range is from -700 to 10,000 meters (-2,300 to 32,800 feet).
The Pathfinder also features a built-in thermometer that displays and checks the temperature every five minutes. The display can be converted from Celsius to Fahrenheit and measures temperatures from -10 to 60 degrees C (14 to 140 degrees F). So whether you're hiking through the Grand Canyon or snowshoeing in the Rockies, the Pathfinder has you covered.
Sporty, Durable Design
This sports watch is durably designed with a stainless steel case, round black resin bezel, durable mineral crystal, and black resin band with a secure buckle clasp. Buttons flank the bezel and allow easy access to the watch's sensors. Yellow and white concentric stick indexes on the watch bezel indicate barometric pressure, receiving capability, battery power, and more. The black dial changes with each mode and provides easy-to-read recordings, including graphs and tables. This timepiece is powered by Japanese-quartz movement and is water-resistant to 330 feet (100 M).

Great looking watch, function just like other pathfinder series, it's about a standard g shock size watch, unlike the newer pathfinder models, they are bigger watch. You have to pay anywhere from $40 to $65 more for the same model of pathfinder watch due to the reverse LCD.

I was looking for a sturdy, solar-powered, atomic-controlled watch with all the little gadgets I enjoy on a digital watch (stop-watch, alarm, 2nd time zone, countdown, temperature, compass, barometer, altimeter). This one does the trick. It is light and not too big on my mid-sized wrist.
The compass and the thermometer need to be calibrated to be accurate!
All in all, it's a great-looking watch!

This watch takes the best characteristics from the rest of the pathfinder line and incorporate it into a functional timepiece.
It was only a matter of time until casio made the reverse lcd (black-face). The face is easy to read with large numbers and the functions are easy to access without having to keep switching. The watch is the thinnest of the line, so far, and also incorporates the count-down timer. The compass will need calibration when received, very easy to do. The temperature is also very accurate, when the watch is not worn on the wrist. One thing that I havent seen in these other reviews is that in this watch, unlike other casio solar powered watches, is the light receives its power from the solar cell, which is convenient. The other casio watch I had received its power from a seperate battery. Band and the case are good quality. I've had the watch for three months, no problems. very good investment for outdoor people.

This is an excellent watch. Great quality and superb functionality. I am VERY happy with the watch having owned it for about 2 months now. I really enjoy the feature that automatically turns the backlight on when I raise the watch up to look at it.

The main reason I purchased this watch was because it was unique with the all black features and that it was slimmer and had a smaller diameter than other Pathfinders. So far, I'm not impressed. I CAN NOT HONESTLY SAY THE HIGHER PRICE IS WORTH IT. When I received the watch, it had no power whatsoever. At first I thought it might be defective, but after reading the manual, it states that after a period of time without light, it will completely shut down and need to be recharged. I've had the watch on either a window sill directly in sunlight or outside directly in sunlight for the past four days and it still has not charged completely. The quality of the watch is questionable. The bezel material is a soft plastic and that will take a majority of the abuse. I think I would rather have it be made of steel or a harder plastic. It looks and feels like a cheap $10 watch from Wal-Mart. I doubt it will hold up to the same type of beating as the PAG40 that I owned. I'm going to give it another couple days and see how it goes. If I'm going to spend this much money on a watch, I will probably consider a different Pathfinder.
I've owned a Pathfinder PAG40 but it finally died so I can honestly compare the two. The PAG40 took a lot of beating and the batteries lasted a lot longer than advertised. I got used to the overall size of the PAG40 and I have just a medium sized wrist. Although I do admit it was tight under certain long sleeve shirts with the watch on but that's because of it's thickness. It looks like Casio has made all the other Pathfinders slimmer than the original PAG40. The 1300 series is about the size of my other watch (Invicta Pro Diver) in diameter and thickness.
UPDATE: The watch is finally fully charged after over 5 days. For being fully charged, the display is very dim. Lower light conditions will be a challenge with this watch. If you are interested in the 1300 Series Watch, I suggest getting the other models with the regular display. I will be returning this watch for another model.
UPDATE: I decided to return the watch to Amazon and just waiting for my refund. I since then decided to purchase the PAW1500T-7V and I love it. Yes, it is a titanium band, not synthetic, which I was little unsure of due to the fact it's not adjustable to what I'm wearing, but I am not disappointed. If I want to change the band out for an adjustable plastic band, I still can. It is very rugged, light weight, and still smaller than the original PAG40, but bigger than the PAW1300 series. A very sexy watch for those who like the larger diving watches. Another benefit is that I didn't have to wait a week to charge it up. It was fully charged when I received it. I found it cheaper at [...] compared to amazon but that is because it is a clearance item. Very fast shipping especially if you are on the west coast. Other than that, you probably won't find it cheaper anywhere else.
